These simple bird feeders are easy to make and can be customized to fit any size tree. They are a great way to attract birds to your yard and provide them with a safe and easy way to feed.

Materials:

* 1-inch wooden dowel, cut into 12-inch lengths

* 1/4-inch wooden dowel, cut into 6-inch lengths

* 1/2-inch wooden dowel, cut into 3-inch lengths

* 1/2-inch wood screws

* 1/4-inch wood screws

* 1-inch wood screws

* 2-inch wood screws

* 1/4-inch eye bolts

* 1/2-inch washers

* 1/2-inch nuts

* Bird seed

* Suet

Instructions:

1. To make the pulley, drill a 1/4-inch hole through the center of each 12-inch wooden dowel, 1 inch from one end.

2. Thread a 1/4-inch eye bolt through the hole in each dowel and secure it with a 1/2-inch washer and nut.

3. To make the perch, drill a 1/4-inch hole through the center of each 6-inch wooden dowel, 1 inch from one end.

4. Thread a 1/4-inch wood screw through the hole in each dowel and secure it with a 1/2-inch washer and nut.

5. To make the base, drill a 1/2-inch hole through the center of each 3-inch wooden dowel.

6. Glue a 1-inch wood screw into the center of each base.

7. To assemble the bird feeder, insert the 12-inch dowel into the base, with the eye bolt facing up.

8. Thread a 1/2-inch wood screw through the eye bolt and into the top of the base.

9. Slide the perch onto the 12-inch dowel, positioning it about 3 inches from the bottom.

10. Fill the bird feeder with bird seed and suet.

11. Hang the bird feeder from a tree branch using a piece of rope or twine.

Tips:

* To attract different types of birds, offer a variety of bird seeds and suet.

* Place the bird feeder in a shady spot, away from direct sunlight.

* Clean the bird feeder regularly to prevent the spread of disease.
