How to Make a Birdcage Cover
To make a birdcage cover, you will need:
- Fabric (1/2 yard of fabric for a small cage, 1 yard of fabric for a large cage)
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Thread
Step 2: Cut your fabric.
Cut the fabric into two rectangles. The width of each rectangle should be the same as the width of your birdcage. The height of each rectangle should be the height of your birdcage, plus 2 inches.
Step 3: Hem the edges of the fabric.
Fold the edges of the fabric over twice and sew them in place.
Step 4: Sew the two rectangles together.
Sew the two rectangles together along the long edge.
Step 5: Add a drawstring to the top of the birdcage cover.
Cut a piece of string that is twice the length of your birdcage cover. Thread the string through the casing at the top of the birdcage cover. Knot the string at both ends.
Step 6: Test the birdcage cover.
Place the birdcage cover over the birdcage. Make sure that the birdcage cover fits snugly and that the string is long enough to tie.
Enjoy your new birdcage cover!
