Rags' Comprehensive Dental Care: A Senior Dog's Journey
Rags Dental – This page includes pictures of Rags under anesthesia and some can be sort of gruesome for the weak stomach. My vet recommended that Rags get a dental when they saw his teeth during his last visit. He had been pawing at his mouth after he ate, so there was something the matter. So although he was 18 (almost 19 at the time) and they just found elevated calcium (which could mean another bout with lymphoma or possibly renal failure) it was important for him to be comfortable in his mouth. Of course, while he is under anesthesia, they brush him and get out all of his mats; they thoroughly check out his ear and express his anal glands. What fun! All of these pictures are included below, for your viewing. Luckily, Rags’ vet, KC Cat Clinic, was willing to take photos during the dental. There is also a small video of his tooth extraction as well, you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of the page to check it out!

Rags getting a dental. Remember he is knocked out with gas, so he doesn’t look alive. In this video they are extracting a tooth…not so pleasant for the stomach, so be careful.
