Meet Milly: Brisbane’s 13‑Month‑Old Ragdoll Cat

Meet Milly: Brisbane’s 13‑Month‑Old Ragdoll Cat

This is my beautiful 13 month old bi-colour girl Milly and we live in Brisbane Australia.  I’d had my heart set on a Ragdoll for a few years after seeing a tv show doing a story on Ragdoll cats.  Then March last year my partner stumbled onto a Ragdoll breeders web site who had 3 kittens left from the last batch of littlers that nobody wanted.  I contacted Sharon Turner from RoyaleKats Ragdolls here in Brissy, who then came to my house with a gorgeous 4 month old little ball of white fluff, I fell in love straight away. I highly recommend this breeder.

I was so excited on the day to pick up Milly, I never slept a blink the night before.  When we got her home, I kept Milly in her safe room for a few days, going in there often to talk, play, getting her used to us.  Milly was a very scared little kitty, never came out of her cave like bed, didn’t eat for a day or two, then all of a sudden on the third day she climbed over the gate I had blocking the door to the safe room,  then house was her’s.  I have a budgie aslo which I was a bit worried that Milly might try to eat him, but she’ll sit at the bottom of his cage and watch him or stretch up and put a

paw on the side of birdies cage when he’s down eating (just to say hello, I hope) and birdie will get close to her for a look ( very cute) but I’ve never seen her attack him. Milly is a typical raggie, loves to have her belly rubbed, she’ll walk along in front  of you at your feet (have to be careful not to walk on her) then drops to the floor with a tiny meow presenting her belly for a rub, which my partner and I can’t resit and 9 times out of 10 I’ll find her sleeping on her back in all sorts of places (very unladylike. LOL).

Both my partner and I spoil her rotten, but she’s more affectionate with me. Milly will follow me everywhere, to the toilet, bathroom, waits looking out the laundry door while I’m hanging out the washing (strictly an indoor kitty) and greets me at the front door when I come home from work.  Milly is such sweetheart, she sleeps

with us in our bedroom, either on the side table with her blanket, on the end of the bed at our feet (my side only) and without fail every morning, she will snuggle up to me squishing her little wet nose over my face waking me up and wont leave the bed until I get up.

Still a kitten at heart, plays all the time, running through the house like a chock with it’s head cut off, growling, tail in full fluff (so funny) and has such the sweetest little meow.  Milly’s the light of our life as we never had any children.  Hope you enjoyed our story.
