Celebrating Trigg’s 6th Birthday: A Heartwarming Tribute to a Quirky Cat
Happy 6th Birthday, Trigg!

I can’t believe my little Chigg Doo is 6 years old. I’ve never met a cat like Trigg. He is so quirky. QUIRKY! Just to get up from a nap sometimes, he will do this weird curl thing. I don’t even think I can describe it. It’s funny. He’s funny. He makes me laugh out loud every day. I am also obsessed with how cute I find him. I tell him daily, “Why are you so cute?” And also, “You are so fancy and handsome.” He is one of those cats that likes to arch his back and rub on anything when you are speaking to him affectionately.
As many of you know, Trigg is distantly related to my Rags, the reason this website is here today. I did not look for Trigg’s coloring or pattern (which is a Blue Lynx Mitted Ragdoll Cat). Rather, I was simply looking for a male Ragdoll cat related to my Rags. Because of that, Trigg is also the reason I have Charlie. In other words, I would not have been keeping track of Trigg’s breeder’s website and seen Charlie if it weren’t for wanting to find Trigg.
Trigg is an easy cat. He always eats whatever is served to him. He doesn’t meow at me non-stop like someone else that lives with us. He is happy watching the squirrels chase each other on the tree for hours and rarely has had anything medical go on. I think his worst encounter was a bee sting. Oh and speaking of medical – when he got his teeth cleaned recently, the vet tech said, “He was a perfect anesthesia patient.” I wasn’t surprised – he’s so easy!
He is crazy affectionate when HE wants to be. He is the first cat I’ve ever had that wants to snuggle with me in bed – in other words, not one I have to force to snuggle with me. He’s hilarious when he does it too. I can be in bed for some time watching a TV program, and he flies onto the bed. I say “flies onto the bed” because it’s not just a jump – he is gliding because he knows he’s about to make your day. And so he flies onto the bed and then approaches me with his tail up and this confidence of “I’m here!”. He then goes into this routine where he rubs everything he can – marking me, my face, my hands, snapping the rubber bands on my wrists and more. He will finally settle down to knead and purr. My sister, who stays at my house when I go out of town, always talks about how excited she is about snuggling with Trigg. And there’s no way to know when he is going to do it – he can go months and not snuggle. That’s what I love about it – it’s such a gift when he wants to do it. I just am grateful when he does. My sister does get a snuggle every time though – maybe I need to ask her what her secret is.
Trigg is very skiddish – and it is something we are constantly working on.
I love him. I love his coat. I love his quirkiness. I just love everything about him and hope we get to spend many, many more years together growing and learning from one another. Happy Birthday to my sweet, quirky, Chiggy!
