Hydrotherapy: A Proven Treatment for Cats with Joint Issues
Hydrotherapy is being used more and more frequently for cats to treat joint problems. This veterinary clinic is using an underwater treadmill for gentle exercise and has found it beneficial for arthritic cats, cats recovering from serious injuries and cats working to lose a bit of weight. Although many cats can be afraid of water, they can swim and gentle introductions often get them acclimatized to the water and enjoying the benefits of hydrotherapy. The gentle resistance of the water can help develop lean muscle mass, similar to humans. Just don't call it the doggie paddle.
