Pedialyte How To Give Cats
It is important to ensure that you are giving the correct dose of Pedialyte to your cat. Overdosing of Pedialyte can cause more harm than good. Talk to your veterinarian to determine the right dose for your pet.
To give Pedialyte orally to your cat, you can:
1. Use a syringe to squirt the Pedialyte into your cat's mouth.
- This can be done by gently holding your cat's head and squirting the Pedialyte into the side of their mouth.
- Be careful not to squirt the Pedialyte directly into your cat's throat, as this could cause them to choke.
2. Mix the Pedialyte with your cat's food or water.
- This is a good option if your cat is not willing to drink the Pedialyte on its own.
3. Soak your cat's food in Pedialyte.
- This can help to encourage your cat to eat, as well as providing them with electrolytes.
If your cat is severely dehydrated, they may need to receive Pedialyte intravenously (IV). This can be done at your veterinarian's office. It is important to take your cat to the vet if they are vomiting or have diarrhea, as these conditions can lead to dehydration.
