How to Know If Your Cat Is Close Labor

Signs that your cat is in close labor:

* Restlessness and pacing. Your cat may start to walk or pace around, panting and appearing restless.

* Nesting behavior. Your cat may begin to collect items such as blankets or towels and arrange them in a nest.

* Loss of appetite. Your cat may stop eating or drinking as labor approaches.

* Vulvar discharge. You may notice a clear or pink discharge from your cat's vulva.

* Contractions. Your cat's abdomen will begin to contract as labor progresses. These contractions may be mild at first, but will become stronger and more frequent as labor continues.

If you think your cat is in close labor, it is important to take her to the vet immediately. The vet will be able to monitor your cat's progress and provide assistance if necessary.
