How To Make A Chic Cat Hammock From Cardboard Box
Hammocks are a purrfect place for your cat to relax. They’re especially nice when you have a small apartment and you don’t want your kitty to occupy too much space. There are many fancy cat hammocks for sale, but why buy one when we can easily make one from a cardboard box?

- A large cardboard box or two medium-sized ones
- Scissors or craft knife
- Packing or duct tape
- Catnip (optional)

1. Preparing the Box
- If using two boxes, tape them together to create a solid structure.
2. Creating the Frame
- Fold one of the box’s edges to create the front end.
- Turn the opposite edge to make the back.
- Fold the remaining two into the sides.
3. Securing the Frame
- Tape the sides to secure the frame.
4. Creating Support Flaps
- Open the frame and fold one flap (1/3 of its width) under.
- Fold the other flap the same way.
5. Strengthening the Hammock
- Tape the folds in place.
- Make sure they’re firm.
6. Adding Extra Support (Optional)
- To ensure your hammock is extra sturdy, cut out two rectangular or square pieces of cardboard.
- Place these pieces inside the hammock, one beneath each fold.
- Tape them to the frame.
7. Make it Look Pretty (Optional)
- Cover your cardboard masterpiece in any colorful paper using glue or tape.
- Get creative and add some stickers, too.
8. Time for Catnip (Optional)
- If you want to entice your cat even more, sprinkle a little catnip inside.
9. Invite Your Cat to Relax
- Place the hammock in an area your kitty loves.
