Huntington Beach Welcomes 500+ Corgis for Sunny Day of Play
Hundreds of corgis running on a beach. Some dressed in bathing suits, others in their birthday suits. Need we say more? Probably not, but we will.
On April 11th, more than 500 hundred corgi dogs visited Huntington Beach in California and spent the day frolicking and having fun. Dubbed “SoCal Corgi Beach Day,” it was a huge event! There was a limbo contest, kissing booth, and a costume contest. There were even some famous corgis in the house, including Dale, who has over 3,000 Instagram followers combined.
It was amazing to see because for starters, we love to see dogs playing with one another, particularly in the water. But we also love that Corgi Beach Day is giving the breed a little love. It wasn’t too long ago that it was announced that the Cardigan Welsh Corgi is now being considered a “vulnerable breed” in Britain. Meaning, they could possible go extinct! Luckily, SoCal Corgi Beach Day brings us a little reassurance that people still love this breed.
