Family Misidentifies Sock as Menacing Lizard Under Bed – RSPCA Investigates

Animal control officers with England's RSPCA responded to a call from a family who was horrified by a giant lizard under the bed, reports the BBC.
Officer Vic Hurr approached the alleged lizard cautiously but was unable to identify exactly what she was looking at.
"It was around 7 inches long and about 2 inches wide," Hurr told the BBC.
It turns out, this wasn't a lizard at all.
The blood-curdling reptile that had kept the family hostage was, in fact, a dirty sock.
A spokesperson with the RSPCA said the family was deeply embarrassed to have called officials for help with their laundry.
