2020 America's Most Popular Dog Breeds: Labs Lead, New Favorites Rise

The AKC has been doing a great job ranking most popular dog breeds for decades. In the US, for 27 years, the Labrador Retriever has been dominating these rankings as America's favorite dog breed. While famous Labs still rank as the most popular dog, other purebreds are consistently catching up.

Take a look at the below infographic of 188 most popular dogs in America of 2020, and see which dog breeds have gone up in popularity, and which ones have declined in rankings. While the extremely friendly, multi-talented and always hungry Labs are still at the top, they're very close to being taken over by the German Shepherd or the Golden Retriever.
