A dog said to be “hypoallergenic” is not scientific truth. Indeed, no dog is 100% hypoallergenic. However, some breeds produce fewer allergenic agents thanks to their natural characteristics, so they are by definition less allergenic . These breeds won’t keep you from allergic irritation 100%, but hair, dead skin cells, and their saliva will be a lot less of a problem for you. Your allergic attacks will therefore not be as severe.

Poodle

This person was looking for a service dog with the specificity of being hypoallergenic . This is how breeders tried to respond to his request and that, no doubt, of many people in his situation. They then crossed a Labrador (for its assistantship skills) with a Poodle (hypoallergenic breed – see above). Thus was born the Labradoodle which is therefore perfectly suitable for allergy sufferers.

Schnauzer

The Schnauzer is known to be a strong and very energetic dog. His rough coat is interesting since he sheds very little and hardly knows any losses . Ideal for people with allergies. However, be sure to take care of this precious hair with one brushing per week. He will give it back to you very well.

Soft-haired Irish Terrier

The soft-haired Irish Terrier is a jovial, playful and energetic dog. But the peculiarity that interests us lies in its wavy coat which does not present any undercoat . Formerly called the Bichon de Tenerife, the Bichon frize has a fine, silky, supple coat, but a little corkscrew , which is what makes the main physical characteristic of the breed. It has the advantage of losing very little hair , which makes it a so-called hypoallergenic dog . Be careful, this particular hair requires very diligent care since it will have to be brushed very frequently and washed several times a year in order to avoid the appearance of knots.

Shih Tzu

The Shih-Tzu is a good-looking dog, very playful and endowed with boundless energy. If he is often singled out for his stubbornness when it comes to obeying, he is a dog who learns only through fun. For people with allergies, it is an ideal dog since it does not lose hair . It produces very little dander (dead skin), so it is as such a hypoallergenic dog.
