Nursing Home For Dogs Opening in Japan

The nursing home for dogs will cost about 1000 a month.  Japans Aeon Group is opening up the facility so dogs can live their final years in peace.  The home will be located outside of Tokyo and is expected to open later this month.  Dogs will receive access to a 24 hour vet clinic and canine members will enjoy time at the gym, grooming room and swimming pool.  They plan to facilitate 20 dogs when they open.

Last year Japan passed a law that required owners to take care of their animals until death.  Both owners and dogs age and this home will provide a way for the elderly to continue to care for their animals.  Owners will be able to spend time with their animals as they live out the rest of their lives in luxury.  If their is enough demand Aeon hopes to open other nursing home facilities nationwide.  Read more at TIME.
