Help Save a Great Dog's Life Today

Sometimes a dog is more than just a pet, more than just a companion. Sometimes our dogs help save us. I’m not one to generally ask for help but when I read Fassbinder’s story I was filled with inspiration: with your help we can save a great dogs life.

Update 12/29/14 – I changed the fundraising links to reflect the new campaign. Let’s save Fass! We’ve got 57 days to reach the $6,400 goal; we can do this. Here’s an update on Fassbinder:

Help Save A Great Dogs Life

Fassbinder, a rescued German Shepherd was recently diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. With chemotherapy the chances of complete remission are above 90%. It is not a death sentence. With 6 months of chemotherapy Fassbinder can be saved.

Keaton Shyler rescued Fassbinder a couple years ago from a high kill shelter; he’s been a major part of her life ever since. In 2012 Shyler was assaulted – after she reported it to the police she began receiving threats. She adopted Fassbinder for her own protection and in the past two years he’s deterred crime twice. The last time was with a burglar.

Fassbinder has started his chemotherapy. He still has 4 months of treatments left. Shyler contributed $3,000 to his treatment from her savings and picking up extra shifts at work.

The $3,000 covered the staging and his first chemo treatment. He still has 4 months left. Every donation given goes immediately to his care.

Check out the “Save a Great Dogs Life” campaign for the complete story including medical records, photos, and updates.

The campaigns goal is $7,000 and it’s 23% funded. There’s only 2 days left. If you do one thing today I ask that you please share their story; together we can save a great dogs life.
