Why Do Dogs Howl at Harmonicas?
Harmonicas do not make dogs howl.
Dogs may react the way they do because the high pitch from the instrument mimics distress, danger, or mating, depending on the sound the harmonic creates. Their ears are more sensitive than ours and can hear sounds four times higher than we can.
Other instruments such as pianos or guitars with strings create low vibrations of sound dogs typically ignore.
