Since our first guide‑dog school directory was published on March 7, 2012, we have expanded our network to include every major U.S. program and new Canadian partners. This 2026 edition offers up‑to‑date contact information, location details, and additional resources for anyone interested in guide‑dog services.
I began volunteering with dogs nearly two decades ago, fostering puppies and working with local rescue groups. My passion grew when I sought a training program that offered free guide‑dog placement. After researching several California schools—Guide Dogs of America, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and Guide Dogs of the Desert—I chose GDA and began a 18‑month puppy‑raising journey. That experience prompted me to compile a nationwide list for future puppy raisers, handlers, and prospective owners.
Below you’ll find a comprehensive, state‑by‑state directory of guide‑dog schools, followed by Canadian partners and additional support organizations. Each entry includes the school’s address, phone number, and a brief note about its specialty.
