How to Make Chicken and Rice Dog Food for Dogs with Diarrhea
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast or thigh
- 2 cups white rice
- 2 cups water
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chicken, water, and rice.
2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool completely.
4. Once cool, divide the mixture into individual serving portions. You can store any leftover food in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
5. When you're ready to feed your dog, simply heat up a portion of the chicken and rice mixture until warm, and serve it to your dog.
Tips:
- If your dog's diarrhea is severe or persistent, it is important to take them to the vet to rule out any underlying health issues.
- This recipe can also be made with turkey, beef, or other lean proteins, if your dog prefers.
- You can also add a little bit of pure pumpkin to the mixture for added fiber and digestive support.
- Be sure to transition your dog to the new food gradually by mixing it with their regular food at first, and then gradually increasing the amount of chicken and rice over the next few days.
