Do X-Rays on Dogs Show Cancer?

While X-rays are commonly used as an initial diagnostic tool for dogs, they may not always provide conclusive evidence of cancer, particularly in cancer's early stages, when the tumor may be too small or subtle for X-ray detection.

X-rays are generally effective in identifying bone cancers and visualizing masses or shadows in the lungs or abdomen, which could be indicative of cancer, but they have limited sensitivity in early-stage cancers and may miss small or soft tissue tumors.

To accurately diagnose cancer and determine its extent and location, additional diagnostic tests are typically required, such as biopsies, ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI.
