Do X-Rays on Dogs Show Cancer?
While X-rays are commonly used as an initial diagnostic tool for dogs exhibiting signs of cancer, they may not always definitively identify cancerous lesions. X-rays produce detailed images of bones and certain internal structures, making them suitable for detecting bone tumors and evaluating the spread of cancer to the lungs or other organs.
However, some soft tissue cancers may not be evident on X-rays alone. Additional diagnostic procedures such as biopsies, ultrasounds, or CT scans may be necessary for a definitive cancer diagnosis and further evaluation of tumor type, location, and extent.
