Do Shed? Dachshund
Dachshunds do shed, but they are considered to be a low-shedding breed. They have a double coat, with a short, smooth outer coat and a dense, insulating undercoat. The outer coat helps to protect the dachshund from the elements, while the undercoat helps to keep them warm. Dachshunds typically shed their undercoat twice a year, in the spring and fall. During these times, they may shed more heavily than usual. However, with regular brushing, you can help to control the shedding and keep your dachshund's coat looking its best.
