How to Make a Dwarf Hamster Leash
* 1/4-inch (6mm) paracord
* 2 crimp beads
* 2 swivel snap hooks
* Lighter
* Scissors
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of paracord about 18 inches (46cm) long.
2. Fold the paracord in half and thread the ends through the crimp bead.
3. Pull the ends of the paracord through the crimp bead and tighten the crimp bead.
4. Thread one end of the paracord through the swivel snap hook.
5. Double the paracord back on itself and pass the doubled paracord through the other side of the swivel snap hook.
6. Pull the doubled cord ends halfway through the swivel snap hook.
7. Fold the doubled paracord ends down against the swivel snap hook and pass the ends back through the doubled cord loop.
8. Pull to tighten.
9. Thread the other end of the paracord through the remaining crimp bead.
10. Pull the end of the paracord through the crimp bead and tighten the crimp bead.
11. Repeat steps 4-10 to attach the other swivel snap hook to the other end of the paracord.
12. Trim any excess paracord.
Tips:
- To make a longer leash, simply use a longer piece of paracord.
- To make a more durable leash, use thicker paracord.
- To attach the leash to your hamster's harness, simply clip one of the swivel snap hooks onto the harness's D-ring.
