How to Wrap a Paw so the Dressing Come Off
* A roll of self-adherent wrap
* Scissors
* A bandage pad or gauze
* A piece of tape
* A pen or marker
2. Prepare the bandage pad. If you are using a gauze bandage, fold it into a square that is about the size of the wound. If you are using a bandage pad, simply open it up and lay it flat.
3. Place the bandage pad over the wound. Center the bandage pad over the wound and press it down gently to secure it in place.
4. Wrap the self-adherent wrap around the paw. Start by wrapping the self-adherent wrap around the paw at the base of the toes. Wrap it snugly, but not too tight, and make sure that it covers the entire wound.
5. Continue wrapping the paw until you reach the top of the leg. Overlap each layer of self-adherent wrap by about half an inch.
6. Secure the wrap with tape. Once you have reached the top of the leg, secure the wrap with a piece of tape.
7. Write the date and time on the tape. This will help you keep track of when the bandage was applied and when it needs to be changed.
8. Check the bandage regularly. Make sure that the bandage is still in place and that it is not too tight. If the bandage becomes wet or dirty, change it immediately.
