Set Successful New Year’s Resolutions with the Hairy Dogfathers
Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions yet? To start 2015 off on the right paw, the Hairy Dogfathers want to share their own New Year’s Resolutions, in the hopes that they’ll help you make the pawfect resolution for you and your dog.
André says:
It can be difficult to choose a New Year’s resolution, because the possibilities are utterly endless. It’s always good to commit to something you know you can accomplish, something like visiting the Hairy Dogfathers on Facebook, liking the page and sharing it with all your friends (yep – I believe in shameless self-promotion, and I’m not giving up that habit in 2015). That said, some still choose to strive for something impossible like fitting back into your prom dress or tux. When making a New Year’s resolution this year, why not include your pet in the mix? They will love you for it. If you’re also looking to up your fitness level, commit to extending your daily walk. If you’re interested in having a little more adventure in your life, start taking your pooch out for a hike somewhere new or different once a month. And if you’re feeling courageous, take up a new pet friendly sport such as Rally, Cani-Cross, or even Skijoing.
Happy New Year!
Kevin says:
I like to keep it simple. This year, my resolution will be to take a new dog class, something I have never tried before! I really enjoy taking my dogs to classes, no matter their age. It’s the perfect bonding time, like a date night with me and my dog.
Before I take a class, I send an e-mail to let the instructor know what we have trained for so far, and what we are working on. That way, I can determine if this class is at our level or not. I don’t want to sign up for something that leaves me and my dog frustrated and confused.
I enjoy learning new things and teaching my dog some new tricks. We both come home tired, but happy.
Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
