How to Make Your Own Dog Rope Harness
* 1/2-inch nylon rope (at least 10 feet)
* Scissors
* Lighter
* Tape measure
* Pen or marker
* 2 metal D-rings (1-inch)
Instructions
1. Cut the rope into the following lengths:
* 2 pieces 24 inches long
* 2 pieces 18 inches long
* 2 pieces 12 inches long
* 1 piece 6 inches long
2. Take the two 24-inch pieces of rope and fold them in half. Make a loop at the folded end of each piece of rope.
3. Take the two 18-inch pieces of rope and fold them in half. Make a loop at the folded end of each piece of rope.
4. Take the two 12-inch pieces of rope and fold them in half. Make a loop at the folded end of each piece of rope.
5. Thread the 6-inch piece of rope through the loops of the two 18-inch pieces of rope, then take the other end of the 18-inch pieces of rope and pass them through the loops of the two 24-inch pieces of rope. Pull both ends of the 6-inch rope tight.
6. Measure your dog's neck and chest. Add 2 inches to each measurement for the harness to fit comfortably.
7. Mark the measurements on the two 24-inch pieces of rope.
8. Cut the 24-inch pieces of rope at the marked measurements.
9. Attach the D-rings to the ends of the 24-inch pieces of rope.
10. Slide the harness onto your dog and adjust the straps so that they fit comfortably.
Tips
* To prevent rope unraveling, melt the edges of the rope with a lighter.
* You can use different colors of rope to make a unique harness.
* This harness is adjustable so that it will fit your dog as she grows.
