- Sander
- Wood stain (optional)
- Polyurethane sealer

- Sawhorses (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut the wood.
- Cut the 1x4s into the following lengths:
- (4) 18-inch pieces
- (4) 20-inch pieces
- Cut the 2x4s into the following lengths:
- (4) 26-inch pieces
Step 2: Assemble the base of the feeder.
1. Place two of the 18-inch 1x4s on a flat surface, parallel to each other and spaced about 12 inches apart.
2. Place two of the 26-inch 2x4s across the 1x4s, one near each end.
3. Using the wood screws, attach the 2x4s to the 1x4s, making sure to countersink the screws so they are flush with the surface.
Step 3: Attach the side panels.
1. Place one of the 20-inch 1x4s vertically against one end of the base, and the other 20-inch 1x4 against the other end.
2. Using wood screws, attach the 1x4s to the base, making sure to countersink the screws.
3. Repeat this step on the other side.
Step 4: Add supports for the platform.
1. Cut two 1x4s to 13-inch lengths
2. Cut two 2x4s to 13-inch lengths
3. Place one of the 1x4s on the underside of the platform.
4. Position it about 5-inches up from the bottom of the panel and centered between the two 20-inch side pieces.
5. Attach it with Kreg screws driven into the 20-inch side panels.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the other 1x4 on the opposite side of the platform.
Step 5: Attach the platform.
1. Place the platform upside down on the sawhorses.
2. Apply a generous bead of wood glue to the upper edges of the side panels and the supports you installed in Step 4.
3. Carefully place the platform on the base, making sure that the screws attaching the side panels are centered in the slots in the platform.
4. Press down on the platform to ensure that it is securely attached to the base.
Step 6: Sand and finish the feeder.
1. Sand the entire feeder to remove any rough edges or splinters.
2. Use a soft cloth to wipe away any dust.
3. You can choose to apply wood stain to enhance the appearance of the feeder.
4. Once the wood stain is dry, apply polyurethane sealer to protect the finish.
Step 7: Let the feeder dry completely.
Allow the feeder to dry for at least 24 hours before using to ensure the finish is thoroughly dry and cured.
