Your First Feline Friend: How to Welcome and Care for Cats

When you return home after a long day’s work, a small hairy animal will walk around to greet you and give you a little caress.

Moreover, the small four-legged member of the house will be responsible for keeping the house clean by protecting

it from the infestation of rats and cockroaches.

Cats are very popular as pets. Cats have a special value for pets in high-rise flats.

However, many people do not know the exact rules of cat escape. If you want to bring an extra member in the house,

you have to take care of it with enough awareness.

Therefore, this report is based on the various details of cat breeding.

Does everyone in the family like cats?

Even if you are interested in pets, you may be a member of the cynical family when you hear the name of a cat.

So think before you bring a cat into the house, talk to everyone.

Above all, it is important to prepare yourself mentally for the cat’s turn and its responsibilities.

Because remember, bringing a pet into your home means you have to bear all kinds of responsibilities.

Many people do not want to keep cats if they have small children at home thinking that the child will get sick.

But a misconception, said Mahabuba Ishrat, a mother of two.

He said, “Pet cats should bathed regularly and kept clean. Then there will be no fear of spreading the disease. ”

 Cat food

Different cats like to eat different foods. There are different types of cat food available in the market.

However, these foods can have long-term harmful effects on the cat’s body.

That’s what Amy Aparna Barai, the owner of eight cats, said.

“Boiled chicken or fish, with a little rice is the healthiest food for cats,” said Amy.

He added, “In this case, meat or fish should be boiled only with salt, cat food should prepared without any spices.”

Some human foods may be toxic to cats. Prohibited foods for cats include chocolate, raw eggs, grapefruit,

ginger-garlic-onion, and even milk, according to the Australian website Cat World.

Although the practice of breastfeeding cats is very old, studies have shown that certain components of milk

can cause diarrhea in cats.

Cat care

Mehjabin, a student by profession, has been keeping cats for ten years.

He said his four cats bathe before winter each year. The opinion is that bathing should not be done all the time in winter.

He went on to say that cats should be bathed at least twice a month throughout the year.

Medicated shampoo should used during bathing. Separate shampoos for cats are available in the market.

Ordinary lice-killing shampoo can also used. Even if you use shampoo, lice and insects can be on the cat,

in this case, after bathing, a special type of spray is available for the cat, which will give good results.

This special cat lice spray can found in private veterinarians‘ chambers. Cat hair should combed once a day.

Cat urination can done at home. You can put sand in a small bowl in one corner of the room.

If you can’t find sand, you can use ash or newspaper.

However, cat breeder Dipanbita Hridi advised not to use cement.

You will also find ‘litter boxes’ in supershops, which will cost more because they are imported directly from abroad.

The health of the cat

Cats need to be given regular worm medicine from the age of two weeks, said KBM Saiful Islam,

Head of the Department of Public Health, Veterinary Faculty, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University.

Dr. Saiful said, “The amount of medicine may vary depending on the weight of the cat.

In addition, depending on the area and environment in which the cat lives, worm medicine is given.

So before giving medicine, you must consult a doctor. ”

Dr. Saiful further said that cats have to be vaccinated once a year.

However, the vaccine is given depending on the age of the cat and the surrounding environment.

It is important to vaccinate cats against a number of deadly diseases.

Some vaccines for cats can spread to humans if the vaccine is not given.

In adulthood, female cats may give birth to offspring at regular intervals, in which case sterilization is essential.

This surgery is performed in any veterinarian’s chambers.

Not only female cats but also male cats need to be found or neutered.

This small surgery not only cures the cat but also prolongs the life of the animal.

Doctors suggest that cats should be neutered or castrated when they are four to six months old.

The cat will recover quickly after the surgery.

Various programs are being organized to raise awareness about animals.

Recently, for the first time, an exceptional program ‘Cat Show’ has been organized by the Cat Concern Association.

About 30 cats of different breeds including domestic and foreign took part in it.

In addition, the Facebook group ‘Cat Society Bangladesh’ has taken up the program of vaccinating cats at low cost.

Group Admin Saima Firoz said, “We have taken this initiative for the first time this year.

In the meantime, many domestic cats have been vaccinated through two programs.

Another round of vaccination program will be held on November 22 at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University.

University teacher and veterinarian Saiful Islam is in charge of vaccinating the cats. ”
