How to Build a Pigeon House

1. Choose a Location

* The pigeon house should be located in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Provide ample space for the pigeons to fly and exercise, and make sure it's protected from predators.

2. Build the Frame

* The frame should be made of strong, durable material, like treated lumber or metal. It should be at least 3 feet wide, 3 feet deep, and 2 feet tall.

3. Add the Walls and Roof

* The walls and roof should be made of weather-resistant material, like plywood or metal. Make sure there is a door on the front of the pigeon house for easy access.

4. Install Perches and Nesting Boxes

* Install perches for the pigeons to roost on. The perches should be made of a rough material that the pigeons can easily grip. Provide nesting boxes for the pigeons to lay their eggs. The nesting boxes should be about 12 inches square and 18 inches deep.

5. Add Other Features

* You can add additional features to the pigeon house, such as a feeder, a water dispenser, and a grit box. These items will help to keep the pigeons healthy and happy.

6. Finishing Touches

* Paint or stain the pigeon house to protect it from the elements and give it a finished look.

7. Introduce the Pigeons

* Once the pigeon house is complete, you can introduce the pigeons. Make sure to provide them with plenty of food and water, and give them time to adjust to their new home.
