How to Introduce Cats to a Cat Fountain

Those of you who subscribe to our YouTube videos, know that several weeks ago, we received the Glacier Point Fountains’ Perfect Fountain for review.  Charlie and Trigg only drank from it for a second or two immediately after eating.  Since Charlie and Trigg are on wet food only – they get the moisture they need from their food.  Ever since I took them off of dry food, they simply do not sit and drink water.

My sister, Amy, adopted two rehomed Ragdolls who are on dry food and wet food.  They also came with a cat water fountain that’s made out of plastic.  One of Amy’s kitties, Ash, has horrible chin acne – so we had to get rid of the plastic cat fountain – and the Glacier Point Fountains’ Perfect Fountain was perfect, since the base is made of ceramic.  Ceramic usually helps prevent zits on kitty’s chins- but not always.  Regardless, it is usually a vast improvement from plastic for bacteria reasons.

So you can see from the video, that we sat by the fountain, once it was plugged in and allowed the cats to approach it, letting them know vocally that it was OK.
