Meet Skye: Our Beautiful Ragdoll Star

Skye – Ragdoll of the Week

Meet Skye: Our Beautiful Ragdoll StarThis is Skye my beautiful baby girl. After years of wanting a child my doctors told me it was going to be virtually impossible I’d been diagnosed at 27 with early stages of cervical cancer and after much treatment my body cannot take having a child, I was mortified but my husband said we can have a baby just not a human baby for years I’ve had cats but never before a Ragdoll I’d wanted one but knew they needed time and devotion so after much searching I found a breeder in somerset UK called Briony who is a animal behaviour specialist she also bred St Bernard dogs an odd combination when you saw them playing together, we went to visit her kittens she opened the door where they were and this tiny white ball of fluff with the biggest blue eyes ran towards me purring! I picked her up and she started pawing at me rubbing herself of my neck it was love at first sight I looked at her eyes blue as a summer sky and that was it Skye Rebecca Howell was ours or skylaboo as she gets called or boo boo or oshaboo too many nicknames.

Meet Skye: Our Beautiful Ragdoll StarWe waited till she was 10 weeks old to collect her as recommended by our breeder Briony the day we got her I was so excited November 1st 2014 i told everyone i was getting a baby people looked confused till i said kitten, I work from home so I spend my days with Skye always by my side but I do have to go for meetings meaning she was alone for a few hours I decided to get her a sister my breeder didn’t have any kittens as she had retired her queen as she felt that it was a better quality of life if she only had a few litters and could live happily as her companion cat i looked online for ages as Ragdolls are not so common in somerset so I found a Burmese blue cross called slinky well they are a inseparable Skye loves her and slinky cannot bear to be apart from her I have my two babies I always wanted but now I am addicted to Ragdolls their personality their looks their gentle nature so I am now searching for a baby brother to add to my family, i have recently started letting Skye out in our garden she doesn’t go far just potters about but she brings me gifts of leaves or bark off the tree which she is so proud of! Skye really did restore my faith in life and Meet Skye: Our Beautiful Ragdoll Stargave me that baby I always wanted I am very lucky and proud to be a Ragdoll owner when people ask do I have children I reply yes I have a daughter called skye who is is a ragdoll and a daughter called slinky who is burmese cross the looks I get make me laugh but once you own a Ragdoll you can never be without one!

As I write this Skye is crying at me Because I am not paying her my full attention when I told her I was writing a story about her and how she came home with her mummy she is now parading herself up and down in front of me chirping away like a little pagent queen I am truly blessed to have this wonderful girl in my life!
