Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the Week

Luna – Floppycat of the Week

Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the WeekLuna is a 2-year-old Siamese-Tabby cat with blue eyes and dull white fur, except for her tail and parts of her face. She has dark gray tabby markings on her face, and a dark gray and ginger tail, although the ginger is only noticeable if you look very closely.

We used to live in California, where Luna was adopted, and moved to New Mexico last year. Luna was adopted from the Pasadena Humane Society in August 2013 when she was only two months old. I’ll tell you her meant-to-be story. We wanted two cats after our other three had died, and started looking online. We picked Luna, then named Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the WeekRuby, just because we liked her. We had also picked Brownie, then Julian. They were separate on the website and the website gave no indication they were together. We walked into the humane society on a Sunday morning and right on the front desk was a picture of Luna and Brownie together! They are not from the same litter, but are so close that the humane society wouldn’t let them get adopted separately. They had come in very tiny around the same time and wouldn’t be here if a kind worker hadn’t fostered them.

Luna likes her cat tower, going for walks, catnip, being petted, sleeping, watching birds and squirrels, cardboard boxes, and basically anything that fits the Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the Weekcategory food (and some things that don’t!). Her current favorite food is lettuce! Yes, she likes lettuce more than tuna. What kind of cat prefers lettuce over tuna? Luna also likes to eat spiders, popcorn, butter, flies, cockroaches, and basically anything. Some of Luna’s favorite things that she highly recommends to other cats: cardboard boxes, and some good advice is to eat any bug that happens to wander into your range of vision. Luna is a strange cat in another way, too: she loves water. Sometimes she sits in the bathtub and waits for us to turn it on. When we turn it on, she puts her paws in it and plays with it. Of course, then she spends fifteen minutes grooming herself.

Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the WeekLuna does not like strangers, vacuums, outdoor cats walking in HER backyard, and not being allowed access to certain rooms of the house.

A product I would highly recommend to other cat owners is the Scratch Lounge Classic World’s Best Cat Scratcher. Another great cat product is the You & Me Bungalow Cat Tree, which Luna loves. Luna’s favorite food is BFF Pouches, and her favorite treats are made by Wellness. I also highly recommend any sort of box or basket. Luna’s favorite toys are mouse toys, catnip toys, jingly balls, and anything that looks like a string. This includes iPod cords, pipe cleaners, twisty ties, rubber bands, hair ties, and much more.

Meet Luna: Our Featured Floppycat of the WeekLuna has many nicknames, some of which are Loony, Luna Tuna, The Girl, Loony Boony, and Purr Cat.
You can see cat conversations featuring Luna and Brownie, texting cats featuring Luna and Brownie, photos of Luna and Brownie, all about cats in general, and more on my website.

I also post about wild birds and nature. Also, please vote for Luna in the Modern Cat photo contest.

Thank you for looking at my website and voting for Luna! I hope you enjoyed Luna’s story!
