Cats are extraordinary creatures.  Even if you believe you know everything there is to know about cats they may surprise you.  Cats are independent, cuddly, cute and smart but, they can provoke even the most patient person. We want the best care for our pets.  We want to make sure that they are well protected and surrounded with love.  Cats love caring for themselves.  They are very clean.  They spend one third of their time grooming.  When a cat is born their mother’s job is to lick her kitten to stimulate breathing.  So kittens follow their mother’s lead to self groom.  There are a number of reasons cats love grooming themselves. Listed below are just a few: 1-To hide their scent from predators 2-To rid their coats from parasites 3-To pleasure themselves 4-To relieve stress 5-To cool themselves down Grooming is a natural instinct for cats.  If the cat stops grooming himself he is not well.  Get him to the vet. Did you know that cats clean their teeth with raw meat? Giving your cat a strip of raw meat everyday will help keep his teeth in excellent condition.  Meat recommended includes: deboned poultry, beef or rabbit meat. Cats can tolerate heat and they enjoy the sun.  Their ancestors were from the desert. A cat’s pulse rate is between 160-240 beats per minute.  The younger the cat, the faster the beat. Cats can hear ultrasonic sounds.  This is how mice communicates, so cats can hear them whereas, dogs and humans cannot. Without taurine your cat can go blind.  It’s an ingredient found in cat food.
