Max the Cat’s Library Intrusions: How One Tabby Keeps Librarians on Edge
If you’ve ever wondered how to get a couple of librarians in a tizzy, you can ask Max The Cat. He’s been sneaking into a local library and has staff throwing a hiss-y fit!
I love my job.
I mean, what other job lets you share the hilarious antics of a sneaky cat who has gained an internet following because he was banned from a library? Yeah, let that sink in a minute.
A tabby cat named Max has gotten some librarians at Macalester College Library in St. Paul all hot and bothered as he’s been sneaking into the library as people open the door. He stealthily walks around the shelves, seeking warmth, and we suppose higher learning as well.
The librarians have no pity, though, even in light of the brutal cold St. Paul is known for during the winter, and have left signs around the library asking the students to not let Max in.

And as in usual college student fashion, put a sign like that up, and be prepared for the Twitter and Reddit response in Max mass quantity. Some commenters are even campaigning for a Max the Cat book, so the adventures of Max can be chronicled and shared on library shelves all over the world.
@librarianrover Please allow this kind and gentle soul the right to good literature that he deserves more than anyone pic.twitter.com/y6e9gFCLNV

Hey Minnesota kids and educators- what happens to Max the Cat? Maybe your students have some ideas! We'd love to help share Max the Cat's story when it's finished! What say you, @cschommer and @gamzegenccelik? https://t.co/JRkYTQot9R
