History of lynx point Siamese cats

This breed was developed by crossbreeding Siamese and Tabby cats in the 1940s. However, it didn’t get a lot of attention until the 1960s when people actually started taking interest in these felines. The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) also accepted lynx point Siamese cats as a subset of the Siamese breed during this time. Since then, this breed has been quite popular among feline owners due to its beauty and friendly personality.

What does a lynx point Siamese look like?

These cats have an amazing resemblance with the wild lynx which is how they got their name. The physical appearance of a lynx point Siamese is marked by a sturdy frame and a slim image. These medium-sized cats weigh between 6 and 12 pounds and are quite similar to Siamese cats (in appearance). Although they are slim, lynx point Siamese cats are very athletic because of their muscular bodies.

This breed is available in a range of colors and patterns. Some of the common colors of a lynx point Siamese cat are apricot, chocolate, seal, blue, and red. Similarly, the coat of these cats can have a variety of patterns, like the tortoiseshell pattern.  

Lynx point Siamese personality

This cat is often called the calmer version of a Siamese cats because they are not very hyper. The tabby gene of these kitties provides a lot of balance to their personality as well.

These loving and loyal cats are very affectionate towards their human companions and make a strong bond with them. They are very intelligent and curious creatures who can indulge in a lot of talking. However, they are much more muted than Siamese and are more suitable if you are looking for a peaceful companion.
