Does my cat get lonely?
It really depends on a few issues.
- Personality
- Type of cat
- How much time you spend with them and the kind of relationship you have
- Number of cats and the relationship between them
- How long you’re gone
In general cats will sleep a few hours after their owners are gone, so if you have a part time job working a few hours a day, there’s a strong chance your cat won’t get lonely. Your feline friend will do what cats love to do most . . .
If you still haven’t come home after they wake up, most likely your cat will do a combination of the following;
- Look for you
- Meow at the door
- Groom themselves
- Have a bite to eat
- Use the litter box
- Play
- Stand guard at the window
After that it’s back to bed for a couple of hours and then a repeat of the above activities. This cycle will continue until you get back. However, the longer you’re gone, the longer the searching and meowing for you will continue. If you have a busy work schedule which involves being gone for most of the day, it may cause your cat to be lonely.
