Natural Lemon Spray: A Safe & Effective Guide to Eliminating Fleas on Cats
Things You'll Need
Pint of distilled water
Lemon
Container
Spray bottle
Cotton ball
Sponge
Fleas can cause your cat a lot of discomfort. Fleas can cause problems such as skin irritation, allergic reactions, anemia and, in rare cases, death. Fleas also can carry tapeworms, which can infest your cat. Lemons make a great natural flea spray. The natural citrus oils from the lemon will repel the fleas.
Step 1
Boil a pint of distilled water.
Step 2
Pour the water over a lemon that has been cut into wedges. Let the lemon and water sit overnight in a sealed container.
Step 3
Remove the lemons the next day and pour the liquid into a spray bottle. Be sure the spray bottle has a fine mist nozzle.
Step 4
Spray your cat's coat and skin thoroughly. Avoid the cat's eyes and nose.
Step 5
Apply using a cotton ball or sponge if a spray bottle is not available. Dab the cotton ball or sponge in the lemon water and stipple your cat's fur. Avoid soaking your cat's coat.
Step 6
Let the spray dry naturally.
