Why Tail Blazers Refrains from Using Soy, Corn, and Wheat in Pet Food
At Tail Blazers, we’re committed to feeding pets only the ingredients that support their natural biology. That means we never use soy, corn, or wheat in our recipes.

Why are these ingredients unsuitable?
- Soy is one of the most genetically‑modified foods on the planet. The crop is heavily sprayed with pesticides, and the beans absorb these chemicals. When processed into pet food, the residue can reach your animal’s system. Additionally, soy contains phytoestrogens that can disrupt the endocrine system, potentially impairing thyroid function.
- Corn is a grain, not a vegetable, and is frequently genetically modified. In the body, corn starch is rapidly converted to sugar, which places extra stress on organs and can lead to gastrointestinal upset.
- Wheat contains high levels of gluten. Gluten can damage the small intestine, alter gut flora, trigger autoimmune responses, and provoke inflammation that may manifest as joint pain. Beyond these health risks, wheat offers minimal nutritional benefit for dogs and cats.
Pets that suffer from food sensitivities, allergies, or digestive issues often benefit from an elimination diet. We recommend removing the following from your pet’s meals:
- Soy, corn, wheat, and any gluten‑containing products
- Eggs, dairy, and all forms of added sugar
- Peanuts (which can carry carcinogenic molds)
While not all of our products are free from egg, dairy, or gluten, we offer a range of specialized formulas—including raw‑food options—that meet these exclusions. The fewer species‑inappropriate ingredients in your pet’s diet, the greater their chances of optimal health and vitality.
