How to Groom a Goldendoodle in the Face

Tools Needed:

1. Slicker brush

2. Comb

3. Scissors

4. Ear cleaner

5. Trimmer

6. Grooming shears

Step 1: Check Ears and Clean If Needed

- Check your Goldendoodle's ears for any signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or discharge.

- If their ears are clean, lightly wipe the inner surface of their ears with an ear cleaner.

- If their ears are dirty, use an ear cleaner to gently remove any dirt or debris.

Step 2: Trim and Brush Around the Eyes

- Trim away any hair that may be obscuring your Goldendoodle's vision using small grooming scissors.

- Brush their eyebrows upwards using a slicker brush.

Step 3: Trim Fur Around the Nose

- Use grooming scissors to shorten the hair on the bridge of their nose and around their nostrils.

- Be gentle when working in this area, and trim only the hair that is necessary to prevent obstruction of their nostrils.

Step 4: Clean Around the Mouth and Trim Whiskers if Necessary

- To clean around your Goldendoodle's mouth, gently wipe it with a damp cloth or grooming wipe.

- If their whiskers are excessively long, you may trim them using small grooming scissors.

- Do not cut the whiskers too short, as they have an important sensory function.

Step 5: Comb and Trim Cheeks

- Brush the fur on their cheeks upwards using a slicker brush.

- Use grooming shears to trim any excessively long hair on their cheeks, ensuring a neat and tidy appearance.

Step 6: Trim Fur on the Chin

- Use small grooming scissors to trim their chin hair, creating a clean and defined look.

Step 7: Finish with a Comb

- Use a comb to gently groom their face, ensuring that all hair is neat and tidy.

- Pay attention to any areas that may have been missed during the trimming process.

Tips:

- Be gentle and patient when grooming your Goldendoodle's face. They may become restless, so take breaks as needed.

- Always use sharp and clean grooming tools to prevent any discomfort or injury to your pet.

- If you are unsure about any aspect of grooming your Goldendoodle's face, consult with a professional groomer.
