How to Make a Birdcage Cover
---
1. Measure Your Birdcage: The first step is to measure your birdcage. You'll need to know the height and width of the cage, as well as the length of the perches.
---
2. Choose Your Fabric: Once you know the measurements of your birdcage, you can start choosing fabric for your cover. Select a fabric that is lightweight, breathable, and easy to care for. Some popular choices for birdcage covers include cotton, linen, and nylon.
---
3. Cut the Fabric: Cut out two rectangles of fabric, each about 1 inch wider and taller than the dimensions of your birdcage.
---
4. Sew the Fabric Together: Join the two pieces of fabric right sides facing, using a half-inch seam allowance. Leave one end open for turning.
---
5. Turn the Cover Right Side Out: Carefully turn the cover right side out, using a point turner or other blunt object to help push out the corners. Press the cover flat.
---
6. Add a Binding: If desired, you can finish the raw edge of the cover by adding a bias tape or other type of binding.
---
7. Install the Cover: Place the cover over the birdcage, so the open end is at the back of the cage. Thread the perches through the holes in the cover.
---
8. Enjoy Your New Birdcage Cover: Your new birdcage cover will keep your feathered friend protected from the elements and will add a touch of style to your home décor.
