How to Make Nesting Boxes for Large Wild Doves
To make a nesting box for large wild doves, you will need the following materials:
* A wooden box (at least 12 inches square and 18 inches high)
* A piece of plywood (at least 12 inches square)
* A drill
* A saw
* A hammer
* Nails
Instructions:
1. Cut the plywood into a square that is 12 inches wide by 12 inches long.
2. Drill a 3-inch hole in the center of the plywood square.
3. Attach the plywood square to the front of the wooden box using nails.
4. Saw the wooden box in half lengthwise.
5. Attach the two halves of the wooden box together using nails.
6. Place the nesting box in a tree or shrub that is at least 10 feet high.
Doves typically nest in the spring and summer months. If you put up a nesting box in your backyard, you may be lucky enough to have some wild doves move in and raise their young.
