Cats love their human companion

Cats adore their owners and love to spend time in human company which is why your cat will come along whether you are going outside or to the bathroom. A domestic feline’s life may revolve around its owner because it gets all the love and affection from him/her. Therefore, it is important to take good care of your feline companion and develop a healthy bond with your cat.

Cat likes to stay in close proximity

Although cats adore affection, they are often portrayed as independent and aloof animals. However, that’s not true in all the situations. For instance, kittens tend to follow their mothers everywhere because they are totally dependent on them. They learn everything from their mothers and have a strong maternal-child relationship.

When they are adopted as pets, they expect love and affection from their human parents. Your cat considers you his/her ‘human mommy’ and will follow you everywhere around the house. In most cases, this behavior changes with age and your feline companion won’t be following you all the time.

However, if a cat is removed too soon from his/her mother’s company, he/she can become overdependent on the owner. This is because the kitten hasn’t gone through the natural weaning process. During this phase, the mother begins to turn the kittens away so they can learn the art of survive on their own.

If a cat follows when you are about to sleep, it could also be for safety concerns. Cats consider them vulnerable while sleeping and do feel secure when they have some company.

Bored cat wants entertainment

According to Animal Wised, indoor cats can easily get bored, especially if they don’t have much to do. This is because (unlike outdoor cats) they don’t have the luxury to hunt and explore the world. Therefore, you have to replace the natural activities with some entertaining tasks to keep your kitty intellectually busy. Otherwise, your cat will follow you if you are unable to provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation.

Cats consider humans a source of entertainment and will often follow the owner when they are bored. Although they are often regarded as lazy companions (especially in comparison to dogs), cats love to trail humans. They have enough energy to keep chasing you in the hope of getting some sort of entertainment. In fact, my cat follows me around all day every day, unless when she’s eating, of course. Some cats may even try to groom you out of boredom.
