A playful ginger cat became the unexpected star of the climactic finale of a Romeo & Juliet ballet performed by the Imperial Russian Ballet Company in İzmir, Turkey. The moment was captured in a video posted by Reuters on X, which quickly amassed more than 1.5 million views. The footage appears to originate from Instagram user Tanya Borger.

In the emotional closing scene, a grieving Juliet weeps over Romeo’s lifeless body. The mischievous cat darts onto the stage, repeatedly swatting at Romeo’s hair before nonchalantly hopping onto a nearby table, as if nothing tragic is happening.
