It is widely believed that cats are independent and hardly have time for their owners. Thus, many folks are usually reluctant to adopt one.

However, cats do have a friendly and loving side. And there are cat breeds that love more easily than the others.

In this article, I mentioned the 15 most affectionate cat breeds and gave a brief description of each one.

1. Scottish fold

Popular for its folded ears, the Scottish fold cat made the top on my list of most affectionate cat breeds.

These cats are human lovers and are always willing to take on any activities presented to them.

They usually come in a white short/medium coat but their coat can take other colours.

Super cute cats who do not love to be left alone. If given the chance, they prefer to spend the whole day with you.

With a Scottish fold in the home, everyone gets some share of love.

2. Ragdoll

The second cat on my list of most affectionate cat breeds is the Ragdoll cat. It is the sweetheart of many homes.

This cat is laidback and will give you no trouble. It also loves to cuddle and can lie on your lap all day if you permit.

Ragdoll cats are good looking too. They have a very fluffy coat and a bushy tail that you can play with.

Also, these cats are intelligent and trainable. They make excellent family pets because they are good with children.

The Maine Coon cat is one of the largest cat breeds there is. Fondly called the gentle giant of the cat world by some fans.

But don’t let its size deceive you. This cat loves to cuddle and can relax on your lap for hours. It may even find its way to your bed for some warmth.

Maine coons are intelligent too and they can be trained. They enjoy mentally challenging games. So, you will do well to keep a lot of puzzle toys around.

Yet to recognize this cat? Think of the hairless cat. And because this cat is hairless, it can’t be warm by itself.

Don’t be surprised when your pet holds you in the covers or lie on your lap all day.

Sphynx cats love human attention and they are not shy about it. They will also appreciate every show of love with a soothing purr.

5. Persian 

My list of most affectionate cat breeds will not be complete without the Persian cat. A very loving and friendly cat.

This cat is very calm and it is okay with just sitting and looking cute. It can easily slide into its owner’s lap for some comfort and pampering.

The Persian cat has a fluffy coat that makes cuddling a section to look forward to.

A North American cat that features in movies as a prissy. You don’t want to miss this charming and gentle friend, trust me.

6. Abyssinian

Also, its owner cannot be bored. The Abyssinian is there when you are watching a movie, cleaning the house, or cooking in the kitchen.

It has a finely textured medium length cost. So, grooming is not tasking for this cat.

It is also trainable. And this cat will not mind having other pets around.
