Meet Mellow: The Perfect Ragdoll Companion
After Diamond was with us for a couple years, we decided that it was time to get another cat to keep her company. Last October, I started searching online for another Ragdoll breeder. I found Barbidolz Ragdoll Cattery located in Lyman, Maine. I had seen her website before, but this time she had posted a notice that she was going out of business due to the economy and that she had two one-year-old kittens that no one bought. After a few e-mails, I decided to visit her. There was a flame point boy and girl left and I thought getting a boy would be cool since I already had Diamond. It’s a shame that she went out of business because she had a nice cattery. The cats seemed loved and well cared for. They were all friendly
and greeted us as soon as we walked in. She showed me the boy and the girl. They both seemed friendly, but I decided on the flame lynx mitted with a blaze Ragdoll cat boy. I brought him home on November 3rd , 2009.
Mellow was born on October 22nd which I found funny because he has the same birthday as my boyfriend. As he settled in, we decided on Marshmallow for the name because he’s mostly white. To shorten it, we call him Mellow which is fitting too because he’s extremely calm. At first, Diamond and Mellow didn’t like each other much, but now they have become friendly. They will sit together on my chair or will play together at night when the rest of us are sleeping. He has his favorite plush ball with a rattle inside which he likes to play fetch
with. He goes nuts for feather wands which I keep in the dresser. If he wants to play, he’ll come up to us, meow and then walk back and sit in front of the dresser until I come over. If that doesn’t get my attention, he’ll start playing with the handles on the bottom drawer. He’s broken several feather wands already by ripping the feathers off. If anyone knows of a good sturdy feather wand, I’m open to suggestions. Everything he does is loud! He has to crunch loud when he eats, he meows loud and his motor boat purr that starts up even when you’re walking over to him is loud!
He’s also on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/prynnrose
He’s just a big friendly fluffy boy! I’m including a picture of him with his twin sister when they were kittens. It’s a picture that Barbi sent me when we started E-mailing.
