Diamond: Meet Our Featured Ragdoll Cat of the Week
I have always loved cats and when it was time to get my own cat after moving into my first apartment, I wanted to find one that was friendly and loved people. I started looking at different breeds of cats and found that Ragdolls sounded like the perfect cat for me.
Diamond is my first Ragdoll and a blue lynx mitted girl. She’s three-years-old and was born on February 15th . I found a breeder who I thought was the best in the area. I wanted a girl and Diamond was the smallest of her litter. She could fit in the palm of my hand. She was the only one who tried to play with me. She tried to climb up my leg and then kept grabbing my fingers with her claws.
I asked to take pictures, but the breeder said that her eyes were cloudy so they wouldn’t come out right, but that she’d take pictures for me when they got better and that never happened. I finally brought her home at fifteen weeks. I wouldn’t recommend this breeder because Diamond has feline herpes and needs medication daily. The breeder told me it would go away and didn’t communicate with me much after I had put down the deposit, but after a while, I convinced her to take her to a specialist and that’s when she got on her medication and she became like a normal
cat again. At first, she was always tired and had trouble breathing, but then she became playful and we saw what a happy cat she was.
We discovered that she loves crinkle toys and popping catnip bubbles. She loves sunning herself in the window and watching the birds at the bird feeder. She stands up on her back paws and grabs the food bowl out of my hand and pulls my hand closer when it’s time for treats. Diamond is a lap cat too which is what I was looking for. My boyfriend and I called her Diamond because she was pretty expensive and because she’s part blue. It’s a fitting name for her. She’s treated like royalty and even has a crown for her name tag. If you’d like to see more of her, she’s on youtube:

Diamond has been through a lot with me and is a great friend!
