Hello, I’m not sure that my Jasmine is a Ragdoll. But she sure does have the appearance and personality traits. She even goes limp when picking her up. From research that I have done I do believe her to be Ragdoll mix. As you read here you will understand, my uncertainty. Either way we love her dearly no matter what her breed or breeds are. We got her last 4th of July. She had been severely neglected. Her previous owner had left her for dead in a dumpster, flea ridden, matted, dehydrated and 1/2 starved. Her story starts with us like this: On July 4th 2014, my sister in law found her in a dumpster. She knew that I had been looking for a female cat with pointed markings, for a companion for my Siamese mix Simon. On that day, there was my kitty she just knew it and couldn’t leave her. Not in the condition she was in. So she rushed home, gave me a call and gave to me our sweet Jasmine. The next day we rushed her to the vet. Who explained to us that had we waited another day, she would have perished. As her fur was severely matted, she was severely dehydrated, emaciated and so covered in fleas that her gums and tongue were completely white from anemia. Basically most of her blood on the outside of her body, because of the fleas.
Our vet loved her from first sight; she asked us many, many times if we planned to keep her. To which I finally responded “oh yes! ‘til her dying day. We have already named her, she is Jasmine.” Here is a picture of her the day I got her and eating her first meal in who knows how long. (see 1st picture) It was believed that she was about 10 weeks old at that time. She had a long road of recovery ahead of her. For the first few days Jasmine slept right by my side. She was so drained from the fleas and lack of food that I had to wake her to eat. It was a very sad time for me, seeing such a young kitten not interested in play or curious about her surroundings. (heartbreaking) Once she had the strength to move about and play as a kitten should, she had to learn that food was always going to be there for her. We began to see that there seem to be more to what she had been through than just what we could see. She started to show signs that she had been hit and abused in that as well. So we then began the work of teaching her she could trust us.

Here is a picture of Jasmine during her recovery time (see 2nd picture). I do not have very many pictures of her during her time of recovery because I felt as though it would be degrading to her character. She is a true princess and should only be photographed as such which is why my husband chose the name Jasmine. Today, she spoiled, loved and a true blessing. She has come a long way from the scared little kitten she was when I was first blessed with her. Today, she believes she is a princess. She plays in her water bowl making a mess. She sits on my dishwasher door, only while I try to load it. She steals my things when I’m working on projects. (scissors, ink pens, pencils, etc.) She jumps in my dryer only when I want to put clothes in. She takes my kids’ toys and runs. She plays, she plays hard and she gives her best bud Simon a run for his money. Her favorite toy is the Cat’s Meow. She never meows. But she always demands attention. She is a big kitty with a ton of personality and I wouldn’t have her any other way. Jasmine a.k.a. Fluffmuffin is my baby and I hope to have her as part of our family for many, many years. Here is a picture of her today. (see bottom last picture)
