How to Know When a Kitten Needs Pee
* Squatting position: Kittens will typically squat when they need to pee.
* Incessant meowing: They may meow excessively and persistently before they pee, or right after.
* Going outside the litter box: If your kitten is peeing outside the litter box, it could be because they need to go more often than the box is available.
* Straining to urinate: If your kitten strains to pee or has difficulty urinating, they could have a blockage or other medical problem and should be seen by a veterinarian.
* Holding the tail straight up: When kittens hold their tails straight up, it can often be a sign of impending elimination.
* Excessive licking of the genitals: Kittens who are about to urinate may obsessively lick their genitals in preparation.
If you notice any of these signs, take your kitten to their litter box immediately and provide them with plenty of privacy. If they are not able to pee, or if you are concerned about their behavior, take them to a veterinarian.
