Here are a few fun indoor exercises for your dog that you can try if you are stuck inside

  1. Hide food, toys, stuffed animals, etc. all over your house or backyard and let him find it.  Don’t make it too easy for him to find
  2. Play hide and seek with him
  3. Let him walk on the treadmill.  Make sure you do not put it too fast.  Make it fun for him though
  4. If you have a backyard, why not build him a digging pit.  Dogs love digging. That will keep him busy
  5. Play tug of war with him.  You will probably not win
  6. Run up and down stairs
  7. Build an obstacle course but make sure you have enough room
  8. Make up jobs to give your pet
  9. Take your pet for a drive if you have a car
  10. Play fetch with him

A dog needs between 10-60 minutes a day of exercise. We are all adjusting to a different type of living.  It is important to help your pet stay healthy and happy during these trying times.
