Why Does My Dog Lick Belly Button?
Dogs do not have belly buttons.
Humans and other primates have belly buttons because we are born with an umbilical cord that connects us to our mothers. When we are born, the umbilical cord is cut, and the belly button is left as a scar.
Dogs, on the other hand, are not born with an umbilical cord. Instead, they are born with a placenta that provides them with nutrients and oxygen. When the puppies are born, the placenta is expelled from the mother, and the puppies do not have a belly button.
